David F. Bicard, Ph.D., BCBA-D
Dr. Bicard is a former preschool teacher at The Fred S. Keller School, a nationally recognized preschool in New York, and has permanent teaching certification within that state. He has published research in a variety of highly respected educational journals. Dr. Bicard has over 20 years of experience working with young children and families.
Andrea Herrington Punzel, BCBA, Clinical Director
Andrea has been a team member of Great Leaps Learning Center since February of 2015. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Troy University in 2015 and her Master of Arts in Applied Behavior Analysis from Ball State University in 2018. She obtained her Board-Certified Behavior Analyst certification in 2018. In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors, reading, and spending time with her husband and dogs.
Cindy Vieira, BCBA, Home Based Director
Cindy obtained her bachelors degree in Psychology at Troy University and her masters degree in Applied Behavior Analysis at Simmons College. She became certified as a BCBA in 2018. Cindy has been a member of the Great Leaps Learning Center team since its opening in February of 2015. She prefers to spend her free time relaxing at home with her three cats and is expecting her first child in the summer of 2019.
Auriel Jackson, BCBA
Auriel Jackson is originally from Montgomery AL. She graduated from Troy University with a BS in Psychology in 2015. She received her MA in Applied Behavior Analysis at Ball State University . In her spare time, Auriel enjoys traveling, working out, and spending time with her family.
Hunter Stewart, RBT
Hunter Stewart is from Daphne, Alabama. He graduated from Troy University with a Bachelors degree in Psychology in 2016. He has been with Great Leaps since June of the same year. In his spare time Hunter enjoys writing, spending time with his dog, and going to the movies. He published his first short story, in Troy's literary journal, The Rubicon in 2015.
Lauren Strange, M.S., RBT
Lauren Strange is originally from Albertville, AL. She is a 2010 graduate of Snead State Community College with a A.S. in psychology. In 2012 she earned a B.A. in Psychology from Auburn University and went on to obtain an M.S. in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University in 2015. Prior to working as a Registered Behavior Technician, Lauren served as a children's mental health therapist. She is currently pursuing BCBA certification through the University of West Florida. Lauren enjoys Auburn football, being outdoors with her dogs, and spending quality time with her husband and daughter.
Lauren Hunter, RBT
Lauren is a full-time student enrolled at Troy University. She is pursuing a degree in Psychology with a minor in ABA studies. She is a single mother of a nine-year-old daughter, who is a competitive gymnast. She enjoys going to flea markets, refurbishing furniture, and cooking. Lauren has been working with children with disabilities since she was 16 years old and working as a Registered Behavioral Technician with Great Leaps since 2016.
Selena Chatman Spires, BCaBA
Selena is from Marbury, AL. Selena graduated Troy University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Applied Behavior Analysis. She started at Great Leaps in January 2017, and she became a BCaBA in May 2019. Selena enjoys watching Alabama Football, hunting, and spending time with her husband, family and friends.
Samantha Medlyn, RBT, After School Manager
Sam is from Denver, Colorado and has worked with children and young adults with different abilities since 2014. She received Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Integrative Physiology from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2016. She moved to Montgomery, AL in August of 2018. Currently, she is pursuing a Master of Arts in Special Education Intervention Specialist from the University of Northern Colorado. In her spare time, she loves to hike, camp, and spend time with her two kittens.
Jenesse Robotham currently resides in Prattville, AL. She graduated from Troy University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Applied Behavior Analysis in 2018. She is currently working on becoming certified as a BCaBA. Her future goal is becoming a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst. Jenesse has been with Great Leaps since January of 2019. During her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
Morgan is from Prattville, Alabama. She has obtained a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Applied Behavior Analysis through Troy University. She plans to become a Board-Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst when she completes her Practicum hours. She will also continue her education in the fall by pursuing a master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis. During her free time, Morgan enjoys softball, music festivals, traveling, and spending time in nature.
Christian has lived in Prattville, AL for over 10 years. She was introduced to the world of Autism when she was 16 after her little brother was diagnosed. Early intervention gave her family the tools they needed to help her brother, and she has since made it her goal to help others in her situation. She loves hockey, reading, and animals. She plans on perusing a degree that will allow her to continue helping those in need.
Mandy graduated Magna Cum Laude from American Public University with a BA in Human Development and Family Studies, in 2018. She plans on furthering her education by earning a master’s degree in Applied Behavioral Analysis. Over the last ten years she worked as preschool teacher and continues her passion of working with children. She enjoys Alabama football, being outdoors and camping with her family.
Symone Chappell is from Birmingham AL. She attended Troy University and received her Bachelor of Science in psychology in December 2018. She has always had a passion for working with children and started working with Great Leaps in March 2019. She plans to further her education in hopes of becoming a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, eating, traveling, and playing with puppy dog Otto.
Hayley will graduate May 2020 from AUM with a degree in Communication Disorders. She hopes to further her education by pursuing a masters in Speech-Language Pathology. In her free time she enjoys watching Netflix, listening to podcasts, being outdoors, and spending time with friends!

Elaine Krift has been a registered behavior technician at Great Leaps Learning Center since January 2018. She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism, with a specialization in communications, from the University of Texas at Arlington. She became inspired to enter the field of Applied Behavior Analysis after her son was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder at age 3. Krift is now pursuing a master’s degree in ABA along with certificates in ABA and Autism at Ball State University. She plans to become a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst and continue to work in the field of ABA. In her spare time, Krift enjoys spending time with her husband and son, traveling, and practicing yoga.
Jelissa is originally from Millbrook Al. She is a full time student at Simmons University. She is persuading her Masters Degree in ABA to become a BCBA. She received her Bachelors degree in Sociology from The University of South Alabama in 2016. She is a single mother to her two-year-old daughter. Jelissa enjoys Alabama Football, anything pertaining to fall, she’s very crafty, and enjoys spending quality time with her daughter.
